Puffy
Written and illustrated by Mindaugas Silinskis
Puffy is unhappy. Puffy is hungry, very hungry and confused.
“Something is going on. Where is she? It’s been 2 days...
What if something bad happened to her?”
Mrs. Stevens is really upset and worried. It has been 2 days since she has left her apartment.
“What about Puffy? Who is going to feed the poor cat?”
She is walking back and forth and thinking. Mrs. Stevens has an idea.
She opens the cupboard in the hallway where she finds an old basket and a piece of rope.
Mrs. Stevens ties the rope to the basket, takes some ham out of the fridge, cuts it in small pieces, and puts them inside the basket.
Finally, she opens the window.
Puffy is walking on the sidewalk.
“Why are the streets so empty? Where could I get some food?”
All of a sudden, he hears something so familiar. “Here-kitty-kitty-kitty. Puffy! Here-kitty-kitty...” Puffy runs to the entrance of the building. “There is no one here.”
Then, he hears it again, “Puffy! Here-kitty-kitty- kitty.”
It’s coming from above. Puffy looks up. He sees Mrs. Stevens looking down from the window and lowering the basket.
“Is that for me? Oh, I can smell something delicious there!”
